Valerie Curlingford was born in Amsterdam, December 3rd 1989. She started dancing at the age of 4 and singing at age of 8. That's when she also started taking Musical Theatre classes next to her Ballet classes, participated in a R&B choir and videoclip dance. In 2003 at the age of 13 a new TV contest aired. It was the kids version of the famous Eurovision Songcontest. Where she made her first song called Leef je droom ( Live your dream) and became second of her country's finale. Her song came on the Junior Songcontest cd.

At the age of 14 she wrote two other songs with a band and performed it at De Uitmarkt ( A Dutch festival in Amsterdam for Culture and Music) with N'Dambi (backing vocalist Erykah Badu).

In 2004 is when she entered Lucia Marthas Institute for Performing Arts (LMIPA) combined with her high school. This school is 70% owned by Joop v/d Ende ( one of the biggest musical producers in The Netherlands and known on West End and Germany). After graduating high school she decided to stay with LMIPA to do their Bachelor Program.

During her college years she was performing a lot as a singer and dancer. These are just a couple of her performances; she sang for the Royal Family, danced for Adidas/Reebok, X-factor and a dance piece choreographed by the amazing Anthony Burrell (Dancer for Beyoncé, Mariah Carey and Rihanna). She was also an honor student where she was part of an exchange program in Glasgow, Schotland with the Royal Conservatoire of Glasgow.

Ten days after receiving her Bachelor degree 2013 she started working as a Featured Singer for the Royal Caribbean Cruise Line, where she was touring the world with their Broadway inspired shows. In 2015 is when she entered the Los Angeles College of Music, to study Songwriting. Her music is a blend of pop, jazz and soul. Valerie is currently also working with an upcoming artist/entrepreneur named Tree of Lyfe as a model and singer.
